“Staying Healthy as Pianist: Prevention of Movement Problems”

EPTA Denmark will host an international webinar with Prof. Dr. med. Eckart Altenmüller, Director of the Institute of Music Physiology and Musician’s Medicine at the Hannover University of Music, Drama and Media.

Prof. Altenmüller will explain the mechanisms underlying ailments that pianists tend to suffer from, such as acute pain, chronic overuse syndroms and movement problems. He will also demonstrate how these issues can be prevented or treated, concentrating on practice strategies and healthy mental attitudes.

The webinar is free of charge for the members of EPTA Finland as well as the full-time students of piano pedagogy. Registration is required for the participation.

AUTUMN ONLINE EDUCATION Saturday, 16th of October, 2021

EPTA Finland hold an Autumn Educational Day online.

Professor Timo Virtanen gave a highly interesting lecture about editing and editions followed by an active discussion with the listeners. Dr. Kristiina Junttu hold an inspiring group teaching demonstration.

Epta-Finland will hold its Annual National Conference via internet from Saturday 6th to Sunday 7th of February 2021. Participating in the Piano Conference is free of charge. You can follow the program online in the address www.pianopedagogit.fi
The program includes e.g. a piano master course by prof. Matti Raekallio and a lecturer by Päivi Jordan-Kilkki, as well as performances by the pupils and teachers of Juvenalia Music Institute.

Juvenalia Music Institute is responsible for Sunday’s program.

XLIII NATIONAL PIANO CONFERENCE IN ROVANIEMI 9th – 10th February 2019

Epta-Finland will hold its Annual National Conference at the Lapland Music, Rovaniemi from Saturday 9th to Sunday10th of February 2019.

The Annual Meeting 2017 at the Steinway Gallery the 11th of February

Because of the international EPTA 2017 conference in Helsinki in August there will be no national piano seminar in February 2017. The statutory annual meeting will be held at the Steinway Gallery in Helsinki the 11th of February at 4 p.m. In the meeting, the statutory issues will be dealt with.

In addition to the annual meeting there will be a short piano concert of Jani Aarrevaara in the program.
